To remove the window motor and control unit, start by taking off the door inner trim panel, then disconnect the wiring connectors from the window regulator motor. Unscrew the mounting bolts and withdraw the regulator motor from the door panel, and if necessary, release the securing clips to remove the control unit from the motor. For the front door window frame, remove the window motor, pull back the rubber trim cover at the rear of the window frame to undo the upper mounting bolt, and unclip the rubber grommet to access the lower mounting bolt. Repeat this process for the front upper mounting bolt and the front lower mounting bolt above the speaker. Undo the window regulator assembly securing screws from the door panel, noting the number of screws varies by vehicle type. Release the locating clips for the window regulator from the door panel, then withdraw the window frame/glass and regulator assembly through the top of the door panel, taking care to note the position of the adjusters on the lower part of the window frame. To remove the front door window glass, take off the door window frame and undo the two retaining screws from the lower part of the glass before sliding it out from the guides. For the front door window regulator, undo the two retaining screws from the window frame. For the rear door window frame, follow a similar process: remove the window motor, pull back the rubber trim cover to undo the upper mounting bolt, unclip the rubber grommet to locate the mounting bolt, and undo the lower frame mounting bolt. Repeat for the front of the window frame, then undo the window regulator assembly securing screws and release the locating clips. Withdraw the window frame/glass and regulator assembly through the top of the door panel, noting the adjusters' position. To remove the rear door window glass, take off the door window frame and undo the two retaining screws from the lower part of the glass. For the rear door window regulator, undo the retaining screw from the window frame. Refitting is the reverse of removal, ensuring the adjusters on the lower part of the window frame are correctly positioned, and if a new window frame is fitted, use a 9mm Allen key to adjust its position in the door panel, checking alignment with the vehicle body as adjustments are made.
