- Q: How to remove the Hood Latch on Audi A3?A:To unlock the hood latch, one has to firstly unlock the hood and then remove the radiator grille. Then remove wiring of contact microswitch on the left hand side of the radiator above the top hose, which entails disconnection of the hood latch microswitch over the headlight. Next turn off the hood cable at the join adapter over the headlight: lift the cover, and release the cable end connection, and then it can be disconnected at the hood latch. Note the positions of the three mounting bolts in their slots to make the correct adjustment in the re-installation process and unscrew and take them out. Cautiously unscrew the crossmember lock and remove the cable by lifting the cover and unhooking the cable end connector to the lock lever. Disconnect the wiring support clips located under the crossmember and pull the latch back and through the hole in the crossmember. To reinstall again, do the same in the same order of removal except the hood fastens and releases are to be secured properly and then the radiator grille is to be replaced.
