To remove the component, it is important to always make sure that the ignition and other electrical consumers are off. To have a more convenient access, lift up the front right-hand side of the car and place it firmly on the axle stands before dropping the roadwheel. The second step is to remove the screws that hold the securing screws and the engine undertray and wheel arch liner access panel. When required to any follow-up work, rotate the crankshaft through a socket or a spanner on the crankshaft sprocket bolt to the required extent until the appropriate timing marks fall into place. The bolts fixing the crankshaft pulley to the sprocket should be loosened only, and where necessary the pulley should be clamped against turning by counteracting, with a spanner or socket, on the crankshaft sprocket bolt. Take off the auxiliary drivebelt, note the position the pulley was installed in, unscrew the bolts holding the pulley in place and then take off the pulley. To refit, replace the pulley on the sprocket and make sure the small offset hole is positioned on the sprocket peg as it was during removal and then replace the pulley with securing bolts. Fit and tension auxiliary drivebelt, ensure crankshaft does not turn and tighten bolts that hold the pulley to the required torque. Lastly, re-fit the engine undertray and wheel arch liner where needed, re-fit the roadwheel and drop the vehicle to the ground.
