Raise the front of the vehicle and support it securely on jackstands. Working under the vehicle, remove the lower splash shield below the engine. Place the radiator support panel in the service position, noting that access to the front of the engine is limited, so it will be necessary to remove the front bumper and position the radiator support panel forward enough to allow removal of the surrounding components. Remove the serpentine drivebelts. Remove the bolts from the front of the crankshaft pulley and detach it from the engine. If you're removing the crankshaft pulley for other procedures, such as crankshaft front oil seal removal, loosen the drive sprocket retaining bolt by holding the engine from rotating with a locking tool on the sprocket, or remove the starter motor and use a flywheel holding tool on the ring gear. If you remove this bolt, obtain a new one, as re-using it is not recommended. Upon installation, be sure to tighten the crankshaft drive sprocket bolt to the specified torque and angle of rotation. Position the crankshaft pulley on the crankshaft drive sprocket and align the mounting holes, noting that the pulley can only go on one way. Install the pulley mounting bolts and tighten them to the specified torque. The remaining installation steps are the reverse of removal.
