On the ADR engine where the air conditioning compressor is driven by a ribbed belt, apply the handbrake, jack up the front of the vehicle, and support it on axle stands. Unbolt the torque reaction support from the front of the engine and from the crossmember, then loosen the tensioner bolts. Release the tension and remove the belt if required, or turn the tensioner clockwise using a torque wrench set to 20 Nm on the special hexagon. Tighten the bolts with the correct tension applied.
