The air cleaner assembly may be removed by first unscrewing the plastic air duct attached to either the inlet duct or intermediate duct into which the air cleaner is attached, with the exception of the ABP engine. The second step is to loosen the clip and remove the air inlet hose off of the airflow meter. Next, open the retaining clips and remove the upper cover of air cleaner body and airflow meter, then disconnect the wiring of the meter, then remove the assembly. Next, remove the air cleaner filter element followed by unscrewing the mounting bolt to take out the air cleaner body out of the engine compartment and of course take off any rubber mountings (where needed) and inspect its condition to replace where needed. The airflow meter and shield may be unbolted out of the top cover in the event that it is necessary, including the removal of the intermediate air duct, but the fragile airflow meter must also be handled with care. To refit, reverse the sequence of removing the parts.
