In order to install or remove the wiper motor assembly, it is always best to begin by disconnecting the negative terminal of the battery and removing the wiper arm. Detach the nut on the motor spindle and then remove the mounting bush, then take off the tailgate and unclip the upper inner trim panel and both left and right-hand side trim panels very carefully. Take the light unit covers off the main trim panel, loosen and remove the retaining screws in the cover apertures, sides of the panel and handle recess, and be sure that all the screws have been removed before unclipsing the panel and removing it. Loosen the retaining clip to remove the washer hose in the motor, then unscrew the wiring connector and pull off the wiring in the bracket. Unscrew and remove the retaining bolts that hold the motor bracket to the tailgate, and position the wiper motor assembly out of drive, retrieving the washer to the wiper spindle and removing the sealing grommet, replacement is necessary in case it is broken. In the case of the refitting, take the sealing grommet and fit it to the tailgate and the washer to the wiper motor spindle then slide the motor into place and loosely install the retaining bolts. Install the mounting bush onto the motor spindle and reinstall the spindle nut making sure it is properly positioned in the sealing grommet and tighten the spindle nut to the recommended torque. Then attach the motor mounting bracket bolts to the recommended tightness, reconnect the washer hose and wiring connector, and then attach the main trim panel by clipping it into the much-desired location and making sure to align the retaining screws. And lastly, re-attach the side and upper trim panels and then reconnect the battery and wiper arm.
