To remove the air cleaner, first prise open the retaining clips and lift the upper cover from the air cleaner body, noting that on ACE, AAD, and AAR engines, the airflow meter and fuel distributor are attached to the upper cover. Next, take out the air cleaner filter element. Loosen the clip and disconnect the air duct from the airflow meter on the air cleaner, and also disconnect the crankcase ventilation hoses. Disconnect the wiring from the airflow meter. For ABK engines, disconnect the wiring and hoses from the idle speed control valve on the air cleaner cover, or alternatively, remove the valve completely, and disconnect the warm air hose and air inlet hose from the air cleaner body. For ACE, AAD, and AAR engines, remove the airflow meter and fuel distributor. Unscrew the mounting bolt and take out the air cleaner body from the engine compartment, removing the rubber mountings if necessary, and check their condition to renew them if needed. Refitting is done in reverse order.
