How to replace the front and rear Windshield Wiper Motors on Audi A4?

To change the front wiper motor, you need to first turn the ignition switch to the Off position and remove the key. Locate the wiper arm positions on the windshield and then using a rocking motion remove nuts and the wiper arm after removing the cover. The second step is to take off the windshield cowl cover and weatherstrip, and the third step is to take off the cover of the ECM. Squeeze the mounting nuts out of the ECM housing, and advance the housing to allow additional clearance. Next, remove the windshield wiper motor/linkage assembly fasteners, unconnect the wiper motor electrical connector and pry the wiper link out of the ballstud. Unscrew the wiper motor motor assembly of the cowl area, detach the wiper motor fasteners and decouple the motor of the assembly, and installment is the opposite of disassembly. With the rear wiper motor, the procedure is the same, with the ignition key being placed at the Off position and removed. Place the wiper arm where it belongs on the windshield, then pry the base cap apart and then pick it up. Unscrew the rear spray jet and loosen the nut of a wiper arm without taking it off. This is done by easing back and forth the wiper arm until it becomes loose, then remove the nut and wiper arm. Take out of the inside of the hatch the inner trim panel, and take out the wiper motor harness connector and windshield wiper motor mounting bolts. The windshield wiper motor assembly is located in the hatch area, and must be removed by first lifting out of the area followed by reinstalling.
