To start with, it is necessary to first chock the front wheels, jack up the rear of the car, and place it on axle stands. Locate a jack at the bottom of the rear-axle and elevate the axle until it holds the axle weight. Looseen and loosen the nuts and washers in the panhard rod mounting bolts, and the nut on the panhard rod axle bolt is also used to fasten the anti-roll bar. Unbolt the nuts and remove the mounting bolts and washers so that you can take the panhard rod out of the car taking care not to drop the washer between the rod and the axle. In models without a rear anti-roll bar, it is necessary to recover the spacer that fits between the axle beam. Check the rod bushes and re-check whether they are damaged or deteriorated. In refitting, provide the panhard rod, but be sure it is the correct way round, and fit the mounting bolts and washers. In models that do not have an anti-roll bar, the spacer must be securely fitted between the axle beam and in models fitted with an anti-roll bar make sure that the axle bolt goes through the anti-roll bar bush. Set the washers on the mounting bolts and screw the new nuts on. Bring the vehicle down to the ground and rock it so that the panhard rod is settled.
