Unstitch the hood up to a vertical, and stuff a wad of rag between each corner to enable it to endure any possible damage in case of slippage. Unscrew the hose to the windscreen washer jet and then free it of the detaining clips and ensure that it is not under the hood. In model with a washer jet which has a plug in the middle of the hood, take out the plug at the middle of the hood and then get the two connectors of the washer jet wiring and undo both connectors and tie a piece of string on the wiring connector. Take off the rubber grommet of the hood and pull out the wiring, but leave the string to replace. Label the hinge outline in relation to the hood so that it can be used when refitting and another small person is needed to hold the hood. Take out the retaining clip, pull out the pivot pin and separate the support strut off the hood. Testicularly loosen and remove the left and right hinge to hood bolts, and then loosen the hood off the vehicle. Check the hinges of the hood, whether they are worn out and free at the pivots, and renew them. Install the hinges with the hood with help, re-install the securing bolts, and tighten them manually. Install the hinges so that they align with the marks that were made when they were removed, and tighten the bolts to the required torque. Refit the support strut into the hood making sure the pivot pin has been retained. Reattach the hose of the washer to the windscreen jets, and follow a minimum of routing and maintenance of the hose by using the clips, and pull the wiring back into place (where essential). Fit the hood and make certain of fitting between the other panels, slackening hinge bolts as necessary, and then re-tightening. Lastly, make necessary height adjustments of the hood with the lock pins and make sure that it fits in place when closed and bolt the lockut to the required torque.
