How to remove and refit the oil pan for 5-cylinder diesel engines on 1993 Audi 100?

In order to eliminate the oil pan, use a handbrake, jack up the car and place it on axle stands. Unscrew the undershield, extract the dipstick and empty the oil. Unscrew wiring and hose support, drop crossmember, and undo oil pan bolts. Wipe down, change gasket, and reinstall.
