In order to dismount the gearbox in manual models, loosen the gearbox and clutch, in automatic models, the transmission. Unscrew the flywheel/driveplate bolts as the flywheel/driveplate is held stationary. Check wear and damage, change as required. Look at the spigot needle bearing and change where necessary. Unfitting, Refitting.--Undo the reverse of removal.
