How to replace an oil filter for Five-cylinder engines on 1987 Audi 4000?

Place a suitable container beneath the right-hand side of the engine. Unscrew the filter cartridge and discard it; using a filter strap is recommended, but if unavailable, a long screwdriver can be driven through the cartridge. Clean the mating faces of the new oil filter and block, then smear a little engine oil on the filter seal. Screw on the cartridge and seal, tightening it by hand only.
