Removing the driveplate and refitting it, the raised side of the pip should be placed facing the torque converter, and in the case of a replacement driveplate, it should be seen that it is in the right place. The gap between the back of the block and the face on the driveplate fixing to the torque converter must lie between 17.2 and 18.8 mm (0.667 and 0.740 in). In case this dimension is not met, driveplate must be taken out and a spacer placed behind it to bring it to the right measurement.
