How to safely remove and replace the Air Bag Control Module on Audi TT?

Observe all warnings at the beginning. Disconnect the battery negative cable. Remove the footwell vent trim and footwell vent. Remove the mounting nuts for the airbag control module. Lift the control module enough to access the harness connector. Press the harness connector release tab and pull the retaining lever forward. Pull the connector off of the control module. Remove the control module. If the control module is replaced, enter the control module code using a diagnostic scan tool. Tighten the control module mounting nuts to specification. Switch the ignition on and close the doors. Connect the battery ground strap. If the airbag malfunction indicator light signals a malfunction after installing the airbag control module, then the OTC memory must be erased and checked again using a diagnostic scan tool.
