Audi TT Camshaft Position Sensor

The Audi TT Camshaft Position Sensor provides the engine computer with data on the precise cam angle so that fuel and spark hit at the ideal moment. Also monitoring both position and speed at the tip of the camshaft, this Camshaft Position Sensor coordinates piston movement with the opening of the valves, allowing the 1.8 turbo or 3.2 VR6 to idle along, start quickly and accelerate hard. Hall effect electronics that are resistant to heat have gained rock-solid reliability among long-term Audi owners. The sensor, installed at the back of the head on first generation TT cars or closer to the block on later models, connects directly to the factory harness and can be changed with minimal tools. Its real-time signal links to the crank sensor within the ECM to fine-tune variable valve lift, trim fuel pulses to the millisecond and reduce emissions, a quiet helper that improves efficiency and safety by deactivating misfires. There is a 20-year range of production coverage, and thus a single part number may be appropriate for a series of Audi model years. Drivers like the fact that a healthy Camshaft Position Sensor also transmits accurate RPM data to the virtual cockpit to hold the digital tachometer steady when the track or the road heats up. Such added features as a sealed connector, gold-plated terminals and a slender shell that fits easily in tight engine bays allow this Camshaft Position Sensor to stand out in the overcrowded performance parts market and provide reliable starts even in cold weather. Since the development of the MK1 up to the third generation TT, the design philosophy remains the same and owners will be at peace without the need to search for model-specific components. Maintaining an Audi in good condition implies keeping up with indicators such as this, and by using original equipment you can ensure that your Audi keeps on running as the company intended when it was launched.

Choose original equipment manufacturer Camshaft Position Sensor for great performance and strong durability. They use Audi's official craftsmanship and high-grade materials, and meet strict quality standards. Are you looking for quality Camshaft Position Sensor at a good price? Come to our online store. Audi TT Camshaft Position Sensor Parts and Q&A

  • Q: Where is the Camshaft Position Sensor(G163) and what happens if it fails on Audi TT?
    A:
The 1.8L engines have the camshaft position sensor located on the cylinder head's right side. In the case of camshaft location sensor failure, knock control will be disabled and ignition timing slightly retarded because the control unit cannot assign signals to the cylinders. Also, charge pressure of the turbo will be decepted. The engine will work furthermore will restart without receiving a signal from the sensor. When a fault occurs, the engine control module will produce one spark per crankshaft revolution for each cylinder and the injection system may be one revolution out of phase, so that fuel is injected upstream of the closed inlet valve, which has a marginal effect on air/fuel quality. To test the sensor, pull back the rubber sleeve covering the harness connector. Connect the test leads of a LED voltage tester to terminal B and terminal A. Operate the starter motor briefly, the LED should flash. If the LED light doesn't turn on, check the voltage supply and signal with a multimeter connected to the harness connector terminals and engine ground. Supply voltage is about 5 volts, while signal voltage is battery voltage (12 volts). If specifications are not available, check the grounding wire for continuity and the wiring for open or short circuits. Should no faults be found but specifications are still not met, replace the camshaft position sensor.
