How to remove and reinstall the engine oil cooler on Audi A3?

The oil cooler is engine code BGU-specific, and its installation will need a new oil filter and a new oil cooler O-ring when reinstalled. In order to remove the oil cooler, first, it is on the top of the oil filter above the front of the cylinder block. Place a container under the oil filter in order to trap any oil and coolant that may escape and then work on the oil filter. In order to reduce the coolant spillage, clamp the coolant hoses that come to the oil cooler and take off the clips and disconnect the hoses and be ready in case some of the coolant escapes. Where necessary, loosen the oil cooler pipes of any retaining brackets or clips. Unscrew the securing nut on oil filter mounting threads and slide off the oil cooler, be sure to retrieve the O-ring on the top. To re-install, remove in the same order with the exception of use of new oil cooler O-ring and new oil filter. Once the installation is done, check the level of oil and coolant and top up where necessary.
