Audi A4 Transmission Sensor

Audi A4 Transmission Sensor supplies electronic data to the powertrain computer so it governs hydraulic pressure, shifting timing, shifting smoothness and torque converter clutch engagement under all driving conditions. This group of components, which is installed on the transmission or on related systems, measures the temperature of the fluid, input shaft speed, output shaft speed, position of the gear selector and brake pedal status, converting each state into a voltage level that the module will be able to decipher. The purpose of the turbine shaft speed unit is to monitor internal rotational speed so that the computer can coordinate line pressure during shifts. The Audi vehicle speed unit monitors output shaft rotation so gear changes match with road speed. A transmission fluid temperature element is a thermistor that signals when the oil is cold or hot, so the computer can delay the overdrive or clutch lock up until safe temperatures. The range switch suggests the manual lever position to enable the requested gear and inhibit engine starting outside park or neutral, and the brake on off switch cancels torque converter lock up when the pedal is pressed.
