To ensure that the brake light switch fits safely, the manufacturer suggests that the brake light switch should not be fitted twice. Starting with the knee bolster of the driver side removed. Then unscrew the electrical connector of brake light switch. Turn the switch about 45 degrees in the opposite direction and ensure that it comes out of the bracket. Pull the plunger on the switch out completely before instalation. When the brake pedal is completely released install the switch into its bracket with the opposite of the removal procedure which is to install the switch correctly, and the switch will self-adjust. Once that is done, attach the electrical connector and ensure that the brake lights are functioning well. Lastly, change the knee bolster.
