How to replace the steering knuckle on Audi A4?

To replace the steering knuckle, first remove the wheel cover and loosen the driveaxle/hub bolt while the vehicle is on its wheels, then loosen the wheel bolts. Chock the rear wheels, apply the parking brake, raise the front of the vehicle, and support it securely on jackstands before removing the front wheel. Next, take out the driveaxle/hub bolt and the ABS wheel speed sensor. Remove the brake caliper without disconnecting the hose and the brake disc, securing the caliper to the coil spring with wire or string. Detach the tie-rod end, lower balljoints, and upper control arms from the steering knuckle. Carefully pull the hub assembly outward while pushing the driveaxle from the hub, using a soft-faced hammer if necessary, and support the driveaxle to avoid letting it hang. For installation, lubricate the splines of the driveaxle with multi-purpose grease, position the knuckle/hub assembly, and engage it with the driveaxle stub shaft, installing a new driveaxle/hub bolt without tightening it yet.
