In order to install the left-hand type of oil seal, the
Timing Belt, then the
Camshaft sprocket and hub should be removed. Make two small holes on the already formed oil seal, but make sure, you are at a right angle to each other and do not scratch the seal housing or the camshaft sealing surface. Put in two self tapping screws in the holes and screw the top of the screw with pliers to loosen the oil seal. Wipe the seal housing and camshaft sealant area using a lint-free cloth to get rid of any debris that may lead to spillage. Oil lubrication Do not lubricate the lip and outer edge of the new oil seal; make this press over the camshaft until it is seated in place above the housing. In order to secure the sealing lips, cover the end of the camshaft in adhesive tape. Install a seal into its housing with a hammer and a socket of the right diameter, making sure that the socket does not touch anything other than the hard outer surface of the seal. Then reinstall the hub and camshaft sprocket, and then fight back on and tighten the timing belt. In the case of the left-hand camshaft oil seal, the oil seal is combined with a brake vacuum pump seal, which needs particular steps to be followed when removing and fitting.
