The batteries are situated in the left hand side of the engine compartment and in case there is an insulator cover, it must be opened to unlock the batteries below it. To access them more easily the engine top cover or
Air Filter can be removed. With the fuse holder, in case of necessity, the plastic cover can be removed by pressing the locking lugs to unlock it and gain access to the batteries positive terminal and fuse holder wires. Batteries terminals should be also made sure that they are firmly fixed and there must be no corrosion in any of the connections of the fuse holders. It is good to ensure that the disconnecting procedure is checked before disconnecting the terminals of the batteries. Casing of the batteries must also be checked in relation to its damage or cracking, and the batteries retaining clamp bolts must be properly tightened, in case of any damage to the casing, the batteries must be replaced. In case the vehicle does not come with a sealed-for-life maintenance-free batteries, it is recommended that the level of the electrolyte be checked to be within the MAX and MIN level markings. In case of topping up, then the batteries are to be removed out of the vehicle, the cell caps or cover removed and then distilled water added to each cell to the level of the MAX mark and then the caps or cover is firmly replaced. Once the checks are done, the fuse holder cover must be clipped in place and the insulator cover closed where necessary.
