To prevent the build up of metal particles in the fuel line a disposable type of fuel filter has been introduced in the fuel line, fitting close to the
Fuel Pump in carburettor engines and in the fuel line in the supply line to the metering unit on the bulkhead in fuel injection engines, which also has a canister type of filter in the supply line to the metering unit. When changing the filter, remove the fuel lines and, when necessary, detach the nut by the mounting clip, and be sure to lift the back of the car high enough to reach the filter directly above the
Fuel Tank on fuel injection engines. In attaching the new filter remember that the arrow is to face the flow of fuel towards the engine, and also to fit new clips and washers where required, but to be careful not to get any dirt or foreign material into the fuel lines.
