  • Q: How to remove and refit the valve cover for 5-cylinder petrol engines on 1992 Audi 100?
    A: In order to take off the camshaft cover, first detach the accelerator cable attached to throttle house and then place it aside. Then take off the crankcase ventilation hose attached to the camshaft cover. Unscrew the nuts and remove the camshaft cover and the reinforcement strips and gasket. Switch off the gasket of the cover, and remove the half-round rubber plug at the rear of the cylinder head, where necessary. To refit, clean the cover of the camshaft and cylinder head surface and fit the new rubber plug and gasket. Refit the cover and reinforcement strips, and tighten the nuts in progressively increasing torque. Lastly, attach the crankcase ventilation hose to the camshaft cover once again and reattach the accelerator cable.
