Remove the harness connector for the ABS speed sensor and unclip from the mounting bracket. Elevate the vehicle sufficiently so that you can gain access to the upper shock mounting bolts located above the rear wheel, while keeping the vehicle wheels on the ground. Take out
Shock Absorber upper mounting bolts. A slight lift of the vehicle reduces the pressure on the coil spring. Hence, the removal of the spring becomes easier. Prior to installing the coil spring, inspect the coil spring and lower spring plate for any damage and replace them if necessary. Before placing the spring on the spring plate, make sure its end is against the stop. Lift the rear axle with a transmission jack and bolt the upper mounting bolts for the shock to the body.
