The plastic covers fitted to the underside of the vehicle are secured by a mixture of screws, nuts, and retaining clips, making their removal fairly straightforward upon inspection. Methodically work around the panel, removing retaining screws and releasing clips until the panel is free for removal. Most clips can be easily prized out of position, and removing the wheels can facilitate the process of taking out the wheel arch liners. When refitting, replace any broken retaining clips and ensure the panel is securely held by all relevant clips and screws. Body trim strips and badges are attached with special adhesive tape and locating lugs; to remove them, heat the trim or badge to soften the adhesive, then carefully lift it away from the surface. Due to the risk of damaging the vehicle's paintwork, it is advisable to have this task performed by an Audi dealer.
