Loosen the wheel bolts, raise the front of the vehicle, and support it securely on jackstands before removing the wheels. Detach the tie-rod end from the tie-rod. Remove the inner and outer boot clamps and discard them by prying open or cutting off the rack and pinion boot clamps, which can be pried apart at the crimped area or cut off with cutting pliers. Take off the boot and install a new clamp on the inner end of the boot. Slide the boot into place, ensuring each end seats in its groove. Confirm that the boot isn't twisted, then tighten the inner clamp with clamp crimping pliers. Install and tighten the outer clamp, then attach the tie-rod end. Finally, have the front end alignment checked and adjusted if necessary.
