The Power/rain Control Module (PCM), located within a waterproof box at the left end of the cowl area, requires reprogramming with a proprietary scan tool and cannot be replaced at home. In many models, the PCM is housed in a special metal anti-theft box, making removal extremely challenging. This procedure focuses on accessing the clutch master cylinder by removing the PCM and electronics box. Begin by disconnecting the cable from the negative battery terminal, then remove the cowl cover. Next, take off the cover from the electronics box and pry off the retaining strap from the PCM, moving it aside. Some models feature an anti-theft housing secured with shear-head bolts that need to be heated with a heat gun before being unscrewed with locking pliers, ensuring heat is only applied to the bolts not threaded into the PCM. Unplug the electrical connectors near the firewall, pull back the release tabs to detach the relay carrier from the electronics box, dislodge the grommet, and pull the wiring harness through the opening. Finally, unscrew the fasteners to remove the electronics box from the cowl area, and installation follows the reverse order of removal.
