Why is it important to always replace brake calipers in pairs instead of just one on Audi A4?

Always change the calipers in pairs - never change only one of them. In order to take out, loosen the front or rear wheel bolts, lift the vehicle and place it firmly on jackstands with the wheels blocked on the other end. Take away the back or front wheel. In case of rear caliper, take out the cable-retaining clip and loosen the cable out of the parking brake lever. Fitting a front caliper, loosen the brake line fitting in the caliper with a flare fitting wrench to avoid rounding off the corners, remove the brake line bracket, and pull the brake line out, fitting the fitting to avoid fluid loss and contamination. In the case of a rear caliper, loosen the inlet fitting bolt then get rid of the old sealing washers and disconnect the brake hose then reconnect it to keep contaminants out and limit loss of fluid to the least; in case the caliper is being removed to access other components, hang the caliper with a wire rather than deconnecting the hose. Unscrew the mounting bolts or caliper guide pins to be able to remove the caliper. Installation is the opposite of the removal which involves making sure that new sealing washers are installed at both ends of the brake hose inlet of a rear caliper and screwing the fitting bolt and mounting fasteners to appropriate torque. Last but not least, bleed the brakes system, make certain there are no leaks along the hose connections, press the brake pedal a few times until it is time to drive, and test the brakes thoroughly before returning the vehicle to normal operation.
