It is not possible to remove the wiper motor separately from the frame. Begin by switching on the ignition and the wipers, then turn off the ignition when the
Wiper Blades are positioned. Disconnect the battery negative lead. With the bonnet open, use a screwdriver to turn the fasteners and remove the plastic strip in front of and below the windscreen. Next, remove the wiper arms and disconnect the wiring plug from the motor. Unscrew the two side mounting screws and the centre mounting bolt, then withdraw the wiper frame. Lever the connecting rods from the crank on the motor and, if necessary, from the spindle assemblies. Mark the crank in relation to the motor spindle, unscrew the nut, and remove the crank from the spindle. Unscrew the three mounting bolts to remove the motor from the frame. If the spindle assemblies are riveted to the frame, they may be renewed separately by grinding away the rivet heads and driving out the rivets; if pressed in, they cannot be renewed separately. For refitting, reverse the removal process, lubricating the connecting rod bearings with a little molybdenum disulphide grease. When fitting a new wiper motor, attach the crank to the spindle in the correct position, ensuring the motor is in its 'parked' position.
