Either remove the throttle valve assembly or carburettor. In carburettor versions, empty the cooling system, disconnection and plugging of the coolant and vacuum hose, disconnection of the wiring of the preheater. In the case of fuel injection models purge out the auxiliary air valve and cold start valve. Unscrew the support bracket bolts and nut on the intake and
Exhaust Manifolds and remove the spacer and the washer on the exhaust manifold studs. Unscrew the mounting bolts and where needed use an Allen key to loosen them then pull the intake manifold out of the cylinder head, then remove the gasket. In the case of carburettor models, loosen the carburettor flange, unbolt it and strip off the sealing ring. Refitting is the opposite of removal, and as a result, the contact faces are clean and a new gasket is applied and all the nuts and bolts tightened to the required torque with refilling of the cooling system.
