- Q: How to remove and refit the Hood Release Cable for the bonnet opening lever on Audi 90?A:Inside the car, begin by removing the lower trim panel from under the steering column. Next, unscrew the mounting screws from the bonnet opening lever and disconnect the cable from the lever. In the engine compartment, unhook the cable from the lock control arms on the front crossmember. Remove the special guides from the crossmember by turning the plastic retainers through 90°. Release the cable from the clips on the front wing and withdraw it through the bulkhead into the engine compartment. For refitting, follow the reverse order of removal; if a new cable is being fitted, transfer the guide sleeves and nipple to the new inner cable, ensuring the nipple is positioned to eliminate free play, and then bend over the inner cable behind the nipple.
