Disconnect the spark plug HT leads and the crankcase ventilation hose as necessary for access to the vacuum pump, located on the left-hand side of the cylinder head. Unscrew the union bolt and detach the vacuum hose union from the pump, recovering the sealing washers. Unscrew the two nuts and withdraw the vacuum pump from the cylinder head, recovering the seal. Remove the plunger from the vacuum pump and clean the contact faces of the pump and cylinder head. Refitting is a reversal of removal, ensuring to fit a new seal and union washers.
