In order to take out the bumper, begin by unclipping the grille panels with a lot of caution so as to reach the mounting bolts. In models that have front foglights, take off both foglights. Then loosen the attaching screws and remove the small cover panels under the left and right headlight assemblies, being careful to unclip the trim covers on the headlight washer jets (as needed). Then, loosen the screws holding the front wheelarch liners to the bumper, and loosen each liner. Unscrew and loosen the bolts connecting the front of the bumper with the mounting brackets. With the help, unlink the end of the bumper to side bracket position, beginning with the top, and with the manipulation of the bumper assembly forward and off the car, unclipping the temperature sensor in case. Check the bumper mountings and replenish in case of damages. In A6s, the end of the grille on the sides of the bumper is unclipped, the screws on the wheelarch liners are undone, then the bolts holding the bumper to the brackets are loosened. Once again, with assistance, unscrew the bumper ends and take them out of the car, of course, checking the temperature sensor. Check the mountings and replace them where necessary and screw the threaded sleeve in or out of the mounting to adjust the height of the bumper. Refitting is the same process in reversing the steps of removal and this begins by clipping the ends of the bumper into the base of both side brackets and then placing the top, making sure it is in the right location and then screwing the mounting bolts to the required torque.
