Remove lower sound insulation panels and drain engine oil. Disconnect harness connector for oil level thermal sensor. Remove bolts and move secondary air pump bracket out of the way. Remove oil sump to transmission bolts first. Loosen oil sump to cylinder block mounting bolts in a diagonal sequence. Unbolt and remove oil pan, and if necessary, loosen it from the block by striking it lightly with a rubber mallet. Apply a 2 mm wide bead of silicone sealant inside of oil pan bolt holes, using extra care near the timing chain cover area. If the sealant bead is too thick, the excess could get in the oil pan and block the oil suction pipe screen. Install the oil pan immediately and bolt it in place, starting by tightening all bolts by hand. Tighten oil sump to transmission bolts first, then tighten oil sump to cylinder block bolts diagonally. Wait 30 minutes for sealant to dry before putting engine oil in. Install drain plug, fill engine with oil, and replace lower sound absorber panels.
