To separate the latch from the inner door release, remove the door trim panel. After that, take the lock cylinder out. Using a pick tool or similar you can unclip the cable end from the door handle. Using a screwdriver, unscrew the screws from the door. Remove the latch mechanism with the inside release cable from the door. Examine the attachment of the inside release cable to the inside release lever before installing the door latch assembly. Insert the cable into the lever and turn it into position, then clip the cable into the slot on the latch and snap the cover into place.
