To separate the latch from the inner door release, remove the door trim panel. After that, take the lock cylinder out. Using a pick tool or similar you can unclip the cable end from the door handle. Using a screwdriver, unscrew the screws from the door. Remove the latch mechanism with the inside release cable from the door. Examine the attachment of the inside release cable to the inside release lever before installing the door latch assembly. Insert the cable into the lever and turn it into position, then clip the cable into the slot on the latch and snap the cover into place. Make sure the release cable is clipped into the lock lever and can move freely. To prepare the mechanism for installation, simply pull out the lock lever. This will cause the spring to engage in the slot on the lever, setting it in the basic position. Install the door latch assembly with the inside release cables in the door so that the release cable can be accessed from the opening on the outside. Fix the screws properly. After installing the door handle and lock cylinder, verify the correct operation via the inside and outside releases. Use the unattached cable loop to check the inside operation. Ultimately, install the door trim panel to connect with the inner door release.
