When substituting an
Alternator, removing the ribbed belt pulley is necessary for installation on the new one. The ribbed belt pulley without freewheel and ribbed belt pulley with freewheel are two forms of the same structure. For the non-freewheeling pulley, use tool 3310 and a wrench to counter-hold the securing nut. To remove the pulley, turn the alternator shaft clockwise. To install, turn the alternator shaft counter-clockwise. To remove the pulley with freewheel, counter hold the securing nut with special tool 3400 and wrench; to remove, turn the alternator shaft clockwise and to install turn the alternator shaft counterclockwise. Finally, secure the protective cap on the freewheel pulley.
