To change the drive flange seals, first lift up the rear of the vehicle, and place it on jackstands, and block the front wheels to keep it steady. Take off the heat shields on the differential and loosen the driveaxle of the drive flange and put it aside with wire. Install a drain pan underneath the differential, insert the two driveaxle securing bolts into the drive flange and clamp it with a large screwdriver to ensure that it does not turn as the center bolt and the drive flange are removed. Use a seal removal tool or large screwdriver to pop out the oil seal after which the open side of the new seal will be filled with multi-purpose grease, then pushed in its bore until it snaps into place. In case a groove has been ground in the drive flange, it should be changed. Install new circlip on the splined part of the drive flange, grease the contact point of the seal, and install the drive flange and tighten the bolt to the required torque. Re-check the difference lubricant level, filling up as required. In the case of the pinion seal, lift the rear of the vehicle and hold it well and then take out the rear part of the exhaust. Label the driveshaft to pinion flange, and unbolt it and hold the driveshaft up. Prop the differential using a floor jack, loosen the bolts of the front mount and bring the front down to allow access. In the case of Model 01R, the distance between the flange mating surface and the terminus of the pinion shaft and the pinion nut should be measured, which will be used later to reassemble it. Unscrew the pinion nut with a pinion shaft braced and pull the flange off the pinion shaft with a puller. Take the seal off the differential housing, substitution of the O-ring in the pinion shaft, and lubricate the new seal then drive it into the bore. Install the pinion flange and nut and screw it to the measurements measured and stake the collar of the nut. Clean driveshaft CV joint, fitting a new one, and fitting to the pinion flange, tightening up the bolts. In the case of Model 0AR, take off pinion flange circlip, puller to take off the flange and pry softly on the seal. Install the new seal by lubricating and fitting it, heating the flange and pushing it into the shaft to fit the circlip. Lift the front of the differential, fit and screw the crossmember-to-body bolts in place, clean the driveshaft CV joint and join it to the differential face, screwing the bolts. Lastly, examine the level of differential lubricants and pour where required.
