Detach the battery negative lead. The alternator should be taken off the 2.7 liter turbo engine. Lift the vehicle and securely support it. While working at the back of the starter motor under the right cylinder bank, disconnect the ground cable and the starter and solenoid wires. Removing the starter mounting bolts on the bellhousing side of the transmission lets you lift out the starter. Putting something together is taking it apart. After connecting the battery terminals, reset the electrical consumers.
