When the wiper arms are required to be removed, it is best to run the wiper motor then turn it off to get the wiper arm to revert to the at-rest position. Stick a strip of masking tape onto the edge of the wiper blade on the piece of glass to help it fit back in place. In the case of the front wiper arms, remove the spindle nut cover and loosen the spindle nut without removing. In the case of rear wiper arm, unclamp the plastic lid and the washer jet off the spindle, and loosen the spindle nut. Gently rock the wiper arm side-to-side until the blade comes off the glass and the spindle nut is then removed. With a tight wiper arm, a puller might have to be used to loosen it. In case both windscreen wiper arms are removed at the same time, label them to identify them since they are not identical. To refit, wipe arm and spindle splines with a clean dry towel, and line the wiper blade with the tape, and wipe arm to spindle. Install the spindle nut firmly and the nut cover and washer jet to the rear wiper.
