To install the removal of the rear wheel bearing housing, use the chocking of the front wheels, lift the rear part of the car with the jack, and keep it on the axle supports. Start with detaching the rear coil spring and rear hub, and then unbolt the splash plate off the rear bearing wheel housing. Loosen the wiring, loosen the mounting bolt, and take out the ABS sensor out of the housing. Then, unscrew the bolt in the rear
Shock Absorber, then the bolts of the upper and bottom transverse links, then the bolts of the rear track control rod. Make sure that you support the rear wheel bearing housing, unscrew the mounting bolts on the
Trailing Arm, and disconnect the anti-roll bar link. Remove the wheel bearing housing of rear wheel of vehicle. To refitting, always leave off tightening the mounting bolts until the coil spring and shock absorber are attached and the suspension is in full extension. Install the rear wheel bearing housing by attaching it to the rear track control rod and the transverse links, connecting the bolts with the hands. Install the housing in the trailing arm, but loosely install the rear upper bolt, which is then followed by installing and tightening the other bolts to the required torque. Install the splash plate again and crank the bolts of the splash plate, then replace the rear hub. Install the centre of the rear hub at the correct distance between the wheel arch and the ground, with the help of a trolley jack. Install the track control rod, lower transverse link, and upper transverse link bolts in that order and make sure the washer does not touch the splash plate. Tighten the shock absorber lower mounting bolt, remove the trolley jack and refit the rear coil spring. Install the ABS sensor again, screw the mounting bolt and re-connect the wiring. Lastly, replace the roadwheel, lower the vehicle, loosen the roadwheel bolts and refit the wheel trim or hub cap, and recheck the rear wheel alignment and correct it in case of need by an Audi dealer.
