Use the handbrake, then put the axle which is in front of the car on axle supports followed by the removal of the front wheels. Reattach the front mounting clamps by unscrewing the bolts to remove them, but be careful as some models could have a stud and nut in place of the lower bolt. Unscrew the nut or bolts which hold the side mountings in place with the lower suspension arms, and pull out the sway bar underneath the car. Take back the mounting rubbers, washers, and spacers, be careful to note their locations. On power steering models, unscrew the nuts, and reclaim the mounting rubbers, washers, and spacers. Check the mounting rubbers: whether they are in a bad state or damaged, change them. Refitting When refitting, repeat the taking away process and make sure that the sway bar is fitted back in its correct sense with the offset away on the lower arm of the suspension and do not fully tighten the sway bar mountings till the entire weight of the car is on the wheels.
