Use handbrake and then lift the front part of the car and put it on axle stands that are placed under the car. Take off the splash shield underneath the engine using unbolts. Open the engine oil drain plug and pour out the oil in the engine. Once all the oil is drained, clean, refit and tighten the plug. Use a hoist to place the weight of the engine, and bolt off and remove the transmission front cover. Unscrew the engine mounting lower nuts, put the front suspension crossmember on a trolley jack, unscrew the crossmember front mounting bolts and then lower the crossmember a little. Screw and strip off the oil pan bolts then strip off the oil pan and gasket, and gently tap the oil pan with a mallet in case it is stuck. Wipe the contact faces of the oil pan and block, find a new gasket on the oil pan, present it to the block and clamp the bolts on without any jointing compound. Install the bolts to desired torque diagonally. The other process is the reversal of the steps used in the removal process, making sure to replenish the engine with the right amount and grade of oil.
