To take out the front seat belt of 100 models, begin by unplugging the negative end of a battery. Open the front and rear doors, remove the strips of trim applied on the top of sill trim panel, loosen the screws, unclasp the panel on the bottom of the pillar lower panel, and take it off. The second step would be to unscrew the retaining screws of the bottom of the door pillar lower trim panel, un-clip the panel, and remove it, and un-plug the wiring connector of the alarm switch, as needed. To gain entry to the Procon-ten cable guide tube, peel off the carpet material on the front door aperture, un-clip the cables out of the retaining clip and unscrew the cable guide tube retaining screw. Unscrew and unclip the front and rear end caps of the guide tube and disassemble the screws within the guide tube. Loose the procon-ten cable and guide tube, unclip the locking sleeve of the cable joint, unscrew the seat belt inertia reel cable by the front part of the cable and observe the proper routing of the cable. Looseen and loosen the seat belt lower mounting bolt and loosen the belt out of the floor. The two retaining screws on the bottom of the door pillar upper trim panel should be undone, the trim panel should be pushed down the door to disengage the retaining clip, loosen the retaining clip of the seat belt, and the retaining clip should be removed. Take the seat belt out of the car by unscrewing the upper mounting nut, removing the seat belt out of the height adjuster, and loosening and loosening the inertia reel mounting bolt. In order to disable the height adjustment system, unslotted the cover on the bottom of the door pillar outer trim panel, loosened and removed the retaining screws, and removed the panel. In order to remove the adjusting mechanism in the pillar, loosen and loosen the retaining nut and the bolt. To refit, remove the fitting in reverse order, making sure that the adjustment mechanism and inertia reel are then properly seated on the pillar before refitting their retaining bolts, tightening all the fasteners to the required torque, the height adjustment lever properly engaged, the belt completely straightened, the belt buckle always faces forwards, and the inertia reel Procon-ten cable is neatly connected. In A6 models, unconnection of the wiring connector with the tensioner cylinder on the inertia reel should be performed and caution must be observed when disconnecting the tensioner cylinder. When fitting rear seat side belts on saloon models, loosen luggage compartment wiring connectors, loosen retaining screws and loosen rear loudspeakers, then take off the rear seat cushion and seat back. Unscrew and loosen seat belt lower mounting bolts, unclip the clips of the seat belt guide and take off the trim covers of the seat belt guides. Use the parcel shelf; you have to slide it forward to free the clips that hold it in place and then take it out of the car. Within the luggage compartment, loosen and loosen the inertia reel holding bolt, disconnect the inertia reel with the body and disconnect the seat belt. To refit, be sure the inertia reel is properly slipped in the body prior to refitting the retaining bolt and tighten all the fasteners to the correct torque. In the case of the estate models, detach the rear seat cushion, detach and loosen the lower mounting bolt of the seat belt, fold the seat back forward and remove the entire seat back catch assembly. Disassemble the headrest by removing the headrest guides followed by prying out the seat cover to get to the inertia reel, loosening the two halves of the seat belt guide pieces, then removing the inertia reel mounting bolt. To refit, make sure that inertia reel is properly fit to the seat back, tighten all screws to correct torque, and all the halves of the seat belt guides are clipped to the seat cover. In the rear seat centre belt, unscrew the mounting bolt, remove the seat cushion and replace the spacer between the belt /buckle mounting and the floor. When refitting, make sure the spacer is in place, position the mounting cutout into the body lug then refit the mounting bolt by tightening to the required torque then refit the seat cushion.
