- Q: How to properly renew a car bulbs on Audi 100?A:To replace a bulb, disconnect battery negative lead, take care of hot bulbs, and maintain clean metal to metal contact between the bulb and its holders, cleaning all corrosion and other dirt before replacing. In the case of bayonet-type bulbs, be sure that live contacts are not loose. The proper rated bulb should be used always especially Headlights and mob lights. To change headlights on 2.5 litre turbo diesel engines, unscrew the plastic intake duct accessing the retaining clips and access cover to unscrew the wiring and then fit the bulb. When handling new bulbs, use a tissue not to touch the skin but to install them firmly. To replace the bulb in front sidelights, the same procedure follows to access the bulb. In the case of front fog lights, the grille panel must be unclipped in order to reach the screws to take out the unit and just change the bulb without touching the skin. In the case of front direction indicators, find the retaining clip, take away the light unit and change the bulb and make sure that it is firmly fixed back in place.
