How to remove and refit an alternator for Bosch and Valeo types on 2016 Audi A3?

To take off the alternator, put it on a clean surface with the pulley at the bottom. In the case of Bosch, remove the outer cover, voltage regulator and brush holder. In the case of Valeo, the cover, followed by the voltage regulator and brush cover need to be removed. Check brushes and slip-rings; change worn ones.
