How to remove and install the steering column on 2006 Audi A4?

In order to detach the steering column, one will have to park the car straight and unplug the negative battery terminal. Take off steering column cover, steering wheel and lower instrument panel trim. Unscrew the shift interlock cable, clamp the sections of the steering column in place and disassemble the universal joint. To install, undo the steps, get everything well aligned and tightened.
