How to disconnect and remove the alternator on 2006 Audi A4?

Disconnect negative battery terminal, and take away the engine cover. In four-cylinder models, unscrew the coolant reservoir top, lift-up the vehicle, and take off the engine under-covers. In the V6 models, take out the engine cover on the front engine, the drivebelt and the alternator fasteners. Installation is an opposite of uninstalled, making sure that everything is connected.
