- Q: How to remove and reassemble the ignition switch components on the steering column on 1987 Audi 4000?A: Remove the steering column combination switch, then take out the lockwasher, spring, and contact ring. Unscrew the clamp bolt from the steering lock housing and disconnect the multi-plug. Unscrew the cross-head screw to remove the ignition switch. Drill a hole to depress the retaining pin for the lock cylinder. Reassemble in reverse order.
